REGION 1 ... Cover for the USA, Canada, South and Central America and Antarctica
Travellers must select this Region 1 travel plan if they are spending more than 72 hours of their trip in these destinations
REGION 2 ... Cover for Africa
Region 2 travel plan is not available if more than 72 hours of the trip is spent in Region 1 destinations
REGION 3 ... Cover for Europe and the Middle East
Region 3 travel plan is not available if more than 72 hours of the trip is spent in Region 1 destinations or the majority of the trip is spent in Region 2 destinations
REGION 4 ... Cover for Asia, China, Japan and Indian Subcontinent
Region 4 travel plan is not available if any of the trip is spent in Region 1, 2, or 3 destinations
REGION 5 ... Cover for UK and Ireland
Region 5 travel plan is not available if any of the trip is spent in Region 1, 2, 3 or 4 destinations
REGION 6 ... Cover forSouth Pacific Islands and Norfolk Island

GUIDELINES
The International premium amount payable is per adult. Accompanying financially dependant children, grandchildren, step children,nieces and nephews who are under 25 years of age and financially dependant on you during the trip are covered at no additional cost. A maximum of 2 adults can be named on a Certificate of Insurance. Please include the dates for departure from your residence and return to your residence when calculating your duration.
International Travellers 70 years or over... You must apply for existing medical conditions cover regardless of your state of health, and cover must be approved by QBE in writing prior to the issue of a Certificate of Insurance. Application for cover is available online when quoting and one travellers medical appraisal form per applicant, needs to be completed and submitted for review by QBE.
Availability - These travel plans are available to Residents of Australia regardless of age and to Non Residents of AUstralia aged under 60 yers when the Certificate of Insurance is issued
Eligibility

Insurance is not available to travellers outside Australia

The terms and conditions of the QBE policy are subject to the laws of the Australian state or territory where the Certificate of Insurance is issued. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of that state or territory.

This QBE policy must be issued prior to the commencement of your trip if you are a non resident of Australia, travelling to Region A destination or you are 60 years of age or over at the time the original Certificate of Insurance is to be issued
*
There is not provision to suspend this QBE policy during the period of insurance.
*
The QBE International Travel Plan can be purchased up to 12 months prior to departure provided you are under 60 years of age and you do not require cover for an existing medical condition.
Restrictions To Cover
*
There is no cover under this QBE policy for any claim that results from your participation in a snow sports activity unless you have purchased the Snow Sport Option. (Unless you are travelling to New Zealand only where cover is provided Free)
*
Cover for cruise ship must be purchased if cruising for more than 4 consecutive days or else there is no cover under this policy
*
The applicable limits listed in the Schedule of Benefits are per adult, including any accompanying child or children
*
You cannot substitute the nominated insured, whose name appears on the Certificate of Insurance.
Extensions
Under 70 Years When original Certificate of Insurance issued. Up to a maximum total duration of 24 months from departure
70 Years or Over When original Certificate of Insurance issued. Up to the maximum total duration applicable to your age band
Excesses
On the International Travel Plan depending on your age and destination alternate excesses may be available. An excess pf $200 per adult is payable per claim unless the International Nil Excess Option is purchased. Travellers insured on the same Certificate of Insurance must select the same excess option
Existing Medical Conditions ((including pregnancy)
You do not have to take cover for your existing medical condition. However there is no cover under this QBE policy for any claim arising as a result of, or exacerbated by, or consequential upon your existing medical condition unless you have told QBE about it, QBE have agreed to cover you and you have paid any additional premium QBE ask for. If you require cover for your existing medical condition(s) (including pregnancy) or over 70 years of age, application for cover is available online when quoting.
International < 70 Years ..Available cover is not compulsory
International > 70 Years .. Available cover has compulsory completion of a travellers medical appraisal form.
Not available after departure or to Non Resident of Australia
Existing Medical Conditions of a Non Travelling Relative or Business Partner
You may also choose to take out cover to protect you if your trip is cancelled, cut short or disrupted due to an existing medical condition of a non-travelling relative or business partner provided they are under 80 years of age (see PDS for details). If you do not select this additional benefit there will be no cover if your trip is cancelled, cut short or disrupted as a result of your non-travelling relative's or business partner's existing medical condition unless you have told QBE about it, QBE have agreed to cover you and you have paid any additonal premium QBE ask for. Application for cover is available online when quoting.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Point
One Qantas Frequent Flyer point can be earnt for every two dollars spent on a International Travel Plan. You will be eligible for these points upon departure. Points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 6 weeks of departure. You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program to earn points in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. A joining fee applies.
