Central America is the southern most, isthmian portion of the North American continent, which connects with South America on the southeast.
This Central American country lies between Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the south and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Costa Rica is noted more for its natural beauty and friendly people than for its culture.
The busiest time in Costa Rica is during what is called the high season. The high season is between December and May. This also happens to be the prime surf season for the northern region of Costa Rica. For beach lovers there are a variety of sandy beaches to compliment the rocky points, rivermouths, reefs, and offshore islands which create a playground of surf spots that line both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.
Year round warm sea temperatures in Costa Rica mean that a rash vest and board shorts should be fine for surfing at any time of year.
